YACHT RALLY

AU$ 4,980 per person twin share, for 10 nights

In the largest lagoon in the world and less than a three hours flight from Sydney, lie dozens of islands that make up New Caledonia - perfect for exploring by yacht.

First explore the bustling city of Nouméa, then let the trade winds take you south towards the Isle of Pines, to explore grottos, swim in natural lagoon pools or bike around the island. Then kick back on deserted islands fringed by white sand and swim where it feels no one has swum before. Swing by Amadee and climb to the top of one of the tallest lighthouses in the world.

Here’s how it works

Small group comfort
You’ll sail in comfort as part of a small group of yachts. Vessel layouts will vary depending on which yacht you choose. Each cabin sleeps two and most yachts have cabins with a private bathroom attached. Join by the cabin or take a yacht with your friends!

Your hosts
A Mariner Boating Representative and a local technician will travel with you to assist with the yachts, berthing, provide navigational support with intimate local knowledge of things to see and do along the way.

Life on board
Your yacht offers space and stability on the water. It’s modern and comfortable, with areas to relax both below and on deck. Throw down a cushion, curl up and read a book, or make use of the easy access to the water for a swim.

Your travelling companions
Every group is different, but typically you’ll find your co-travellers will be aged between 40 and 65, enjoy keeping active, love the ocean, have a sense of adventure, love fine foods, an occasional glass of wine, and a good chat

Sailing Itinerary

Day 1
Meet at Port Moselle marina by 4.00pm. Check in and board your yacht. Unpack and check provisions before meeting for drinks at a Brasserie near the marina. Dinner at your leisure.

Day 2
Race 1 to Ile Ouen. Cruise to L’Escapade Island
then race to Ile Ouen. Drop anchor for the evening and enjoy dinner on board tonight. This bay is not a great BBQ spot so we will have race results and lunch on Casy tomorrow.

Day 3
Leisure day short sail to Casy. Enjoy a beach BBQ lunch prepared ashore. BYO beverages to all the BBQ events.

Day 4
Race 2 to Isle of Pines. Depart early this morning. Enjoy a dinner ashore tonight at Kou Bugny Restaurant.

Day 5
Leisure day Isle of Pines. Start your morning with an early trek to Pic N’ga point for great views over the island. Spend the day at leisure.

Day 6
Race 3 to Ilot Kouare’. Depart early for the race to Kouare’ Island. Drop anchor for the evening and head ashore for your second beach BBQ dinner.

Day 7
Race 4 to Ilot Mato. Race to Mato Island and anchor for the evening. Surrounded by reef, Mato Island is a great spot for snorkelling.

Day 8
Cruise to Amedee Island. Amedee Island is a protected marine reserve and the marine life here is incredible – a highlight of the Yacht Rally!

Day 9
Race 5 to Laregnere Island. Party ashore on the beach and enjoy a BBQ dinner – and a final night at anchor.

Day 10
Race 6 (optional) to Noumea. This morning cruise (or race) back to Noumea and prepare for our final night dinner at Le Bout du Monde Brasserie - within an easy walk of the base.

Day 11
Disembark and go your own way.

On water

Additional costs

• Optional pre and post yacht rally arrangements
• Personal travel insurance
• Reduced refundable yacht security deposit (payable at the base in Euro)
• Provisioning for food, beverages and other necessities that you may wish to have on board during your 10 night sailing holiday
• Fuel for the yacht and outboard motor (Estimate AU$286 total)
• Berthing on leisure days where not included in the rally program.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is strongly recommended by Mariner Boating Holidays. Travellers should ensure they have a valid policy at time of booking. Your travel insurance policy must provide cover against personal accident, death, medical expenses and emergency repatriation with a recommended minimum coverage of US$200,000 for each of the heads of cover. MBH also strongly recommend it covers cancellation, personal liability and loss of luggage and personal effects.

• A deposit of AU$1,500 per person is required to confirm a booking
• The designated skipper on board your yacht must possess suitable experience and qualifications
• Prices are subject to currency fluctuation until paid in full
• Credit card transactions are subject to merchant fees
• Single supplement may apply for private cabins if you book by the cabin
• Prices are correct at the time of issue but subject to change without notice (June 2020)
