While we do love sailing here at Mariner Boating, we also understand that sometimes you (or your family) may want to furl your sails and have a "non yachting" holiday. There are many different, and some very unique ways, to holiday on water around the world. To help inspire your travels, below is a collection of some of our favourite trips that we can help you plan.
One of our favourite river cruises is on the Murray River on board the authentic paddle steamer Emmylou. Built in 1980 and named after the country singer Emmylou Harris, she has hosted thousands of guests. It is a magical way to explore the river banks dotted with abandoned steamboats and barges, tall red gum wharfs and small towns that show evidence of once having been much larger.
While cruise ships aren't quite "our thing", there are a few exceptional small ship cruises that we highly recommend.
Our preferred partner Coral Expeditions offers small expedition ships taking guests to some of the most beautiful, yet undiscovered, regions of Australia, Asia-Pacific, South-Pacific and Indian Ocean islands.
Reflecting the friendliness that Australian’s are renowned for, Coral Expeditions offer high standards of comfort and care without formality or stuffiness.
Experience life on board an active 25m seagoing tuna fishing vessel. This unique experience, a stay on board the historic Tacoma departing from Port Lincoln, is sure to be an adventure you'll be sharing with your friends for many years to come. Follow in the footsteps of Matthew Flinders exploring the islands of the west coast of South Australia. Pole your own Tuna fish along the way.
