23 July to 2 August
AU$ 3,095 per person twin share, for 10 nights

Groove to some well-known Blues artists in historic Echuca - Moama and cruise the mighty Murray on the crisp, clear days of July. The local clubs, restaurants, pubs and bars host famous blues artists offering free entertainment for three days and nights. We stay on the river boats in the town while enjoying the Blues Festival and all that the twin towns offer.

During the festival meet your fellow crews at lunches on Saturday and Sunday. After the weekend we set off to explore the river and participate in a program of local activities. Enjoy a singsong under the stars around a camp fire on the Murray bank, lunch at an historic pub, visit a local winery, enjoy dinner and entertainment at Perricoota Station, a tour to the Barmah wetlands and the Torrumbarry Weir.

Our “Weekend Activities Pass” to various extra local places of interest is included.

Here’s how it works

Small group comfort
The boats vary but once aboard you will experience freedom, style and comfort on the Murray. All have king or queen beds in 4 double cabins with private facilities. An open plan dining, lounge and kitchen is complimented by fixtures and fittings including all the modern conveniences of a luxury apartment. The outdoor areas are as spacious as any luxury apartment on Sydney Harbour and the Jacuzzi on the top deck is the icing on the cake. Canoes and paddle boards are optional extras

Your hosts
Your Mariner hosts, the Joyce team, will rely on the assistance and knowledge of the experienced staff at the base. Local chef, Paul Jarman, who in addition to organising most of the dinners in the itinerary, has offered to be in touch with our group along the way to assist should we require any extras. Although the river winds over a large area we are never far from assistance at the base.

Life on board
The river boats are spacious and stable. The equipment on board includes a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, modern oven and huge fridge/freezer. Storage is organised and generous. Eight seater dining table, super comfortable lounge setting, HD LCD TV and sound system completes the living area. The outside area is spacious and includes cooking facilities, bar fridge and sound system, dining table and two sun lounges. The top deck is part shaded.

Your travelling companions
Every group is different, but typically you’ll find your co-travellers will be aged between 40 and 65, enjoy keeping active, love the ocean, have a sense of adventure, love fine foods, an occasional glass of wine, and a good chat

Your river boat home away from home

Before we leave the dock the operator will ensure you are ‘in the know’ with all the equipment and indeed the safe operation of the river boat. The designated driver will be ‘trained’ on the spot and will demonstrate control of the craft before departure. It is not rocket science but THIS is not a yacht!

The base is only ten minutes from the middle of town located on private property with free parking. If you drive we suggest leaving the cars there for the duration.

Once on your river boat you will need to self-cater food and drinks for breakfasts, lunches and several dinners for your holiday. All of your groceries and supplies can be purchased locally upon arrival in Echuca/Moama and via our provisioning service.

How do I get there?

From Melbourne it is a 2.5 hour drive to Echuca. From other states the quickest may be to fly to Melbourne and drive to Echuca.

From Mid-north coast NSW/Sydney an overnight stop at Gundagai is recommended. The onward journey option is via Wagga or Albury to Moama/Echuca. Both roads are good.
