Not sure what we offer?
Here’s your guide to Mariner Boating Holidays!
You’ve found our sailing trips but might be wondering, how does this actually work? Whether you dream of gliding through turquoise waters or exploring hidden islands, here’s everything you need to know about our small-group sailing holidays and how to make the most of your adventure.
Everything You Should Know About Our Small Group Sailing Holidays
Here’s a guide to our sailing holidays, from how they work to why you should sail with us. Whether you're new to sailing or an experienced adventurer, we have something special waiting for you.
How It Works
1. Small Group Travel, Big Connections
For a sociable and unique holiday experience, join a small fleet of yachts, led by expert guides who ensure smooth sailing and exciting adventures. Socialise as much as you like, participate in fun races, or take time out to explore or relax on your own. It’s the perfect mix of community and independence.
2. Flexible Sailing Options
Choose what suits you best:
3. No Sailing Experience? No Problem!
Our trips cater to all levels. Beginners can relax knowing a professional skipper is included when booking a cabin on a shared yacht. If you're travelling as a group and want more independence, you can choose to skipper your own yacht (with an ICC or equivalent) or add a skipper for extra support.
4. Add a Skipper for a Stress-Free Holiday
If you’re new to sailing or prefer to relax while someone else handles the helm, a professional skipper is included when you book a cabin. If you're booking an entire yacht, you can either skipper it yourself (with the necessary certification) or add a skipper to ensure a smooth, worry-free experience.
The Mariner Difference - Why Sail With Us?

Explore stunning locations like Greece, Croatia, and Tahiti, with itineraries that cater to both beginners and seasoned sailors. Visit iconic spots and off-the-beaten-track gems for an authentic, unforgettable experience.
4. A Social Yet Relaxed Experience
Our small-group format allows you to socialise as much as you want—whether it’s joining in on fun races or enjoying downtime exploring on your own. You’ll have the perfect balance of adventure, camaraderie, and relaxation.
5. A Unique Adventure Awaits
Set sail for a journey that blends cultural exploration, beautiful coastlines, and breathtaking landscapes. Our trips combine the excitement of sailing with the laid-back vibe of being on the water, offering you an unforgettable holiday experience.
If Small Group Travel Isn’t for You, Then Yacht Charter Might Be
Prefer to go it alone? Charter your own yacht and be your own skipper! If you don’t yet have a sailing licence, we can recommend training providers to get you started.
Other Things You Might Want to Know
Small Group Experience
Experience the comfort of sailing in a small, intimate group of yachts, typically made up of 3 to 4 yachts with around 20 people. You'll be part of a welcoming community, cruising together to explore new destinations.
Your Travelling Companions
Every group is different, but typically you’ll find your co-travellers will be aged between 40 and 65, enjoy keeping active, love the ocean, have a sense of adventure, love fine foods, an occasional glass of wine, and a good chat.
Your Tour Leaders
Our expert Australian guides, alongside a local technician or skipper, will ensure you feel welcome and supported throughout your journey. They’ll assist with the yachts, berthing, and navigation, while sharing their local knowledge of sights and activities along the way. From the moment you board, they'll be there to make your sailing experience smooth and stress-free.
More Time to Explore
Our tours on average are 14 nights or more, which gives you more time to immerse yourself and really get a feel for the destination. Our trips also include more leisure days where you can choose how to spend your day!
We do also offer some one week trips that are specifically designed for anyone short on time, trying to work within a budget or haven’t sailed with Mariner Boating before. These shorter 1 week trips are designed to be a small taste of how fun our classic Mariner tours can be!
Life On Board
Our yachts are modern and comfortable with areas to relax both below and on deck. Most yachts have 3 or 4 double cabins and are usually less than 4 years old. Below deck you will find the kitchen (galley) where you can prepare meals with the option to dine at the adjacent table or on deck in the open air.
On deck, you can throw down a cushion, curl up and read a book, or make use of the easy access to the water for a swim.
35+ Years of Experience
With over 35 years of experience, we’ve picked up a secret spot or two along the way. While we take you to all the must-see sights, we also love sharing hidden gems you might not find otherwise. To learn more about our history, values, and what drives us, visit our About Us page.
